Understanding and Engaging Wisconsin's Veterans

Habitat for Humanity’s Veterans Build is a national initiative to provide housing solutions and volunteer and employment opportunities to U.S. veterans, military service members and their families. This session will help deepen our understanding of the challenges and opportunities of working with Wisconsin's veteran population.


Michael Delarosa & Michael Hyacinthe, HFHI

Michael Delarosa is a U.S. Marine and more recently a financial officer specializing in business development, customer success and productivity improvement. Most recently he coordinated across five states to develop relationships and training that will increase the number of veterans served throughout the nation. He focuses on cultivating partnerships and collaborations with veteran organizations, federal, state and local government entities, and other non-profits in order to develop the necessary relationships that will enable Habitat for Humanity to better serve veterans as well as develop exportable training packages to support the national effort to serve and engage our nation's veterans. Earlier this year he was name HFHI’s National Director of the Veterans Build Program.

Michael Hyacinthe served 8 years with the US Navy Seabees. He is a Graduate of Grand Valley State University and is very passionate about innovations that help veterans reintegrate and find a second purpose after military life. Michael has been recognized as a top 40 under 40 by the Grand Rapids Business Journal for his accomplishments with Habitat for Humanity veterans program and his entrepreneurial innovations. Michael resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan with his wife and their four kids, he enjoys playing Basketball and telling military stories to his kids.
