VISTA Project Goal

This VISTA will expand HFH Lakeside’s home preservation program to serve more families and establish the organization as an official Veterans Build affiliate.

Project Objectives

CREATE A CREW LEADER PROGRAM – Develop and implement a program to recruit, train, and retain 10 volunteer crew leaders who could act as project managers for Rock the Block or home repair projects.

IMPLEMENT VETERANS BUILD PROTOCOL – Follow Habitat International’s guide to establish HFH Door County as an official Veterans Build affiliate.

INCREASE SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH FUNDRAISING – Research public and private funding opportunities and develop programs and marketing materials for corporate partners – corporate build days, repair sponsors, etc.

About HFH Lakeside

Habitat for Humanity Lakeside was founded in January of 1993, with their main office located in the bustling town of Sheboygan, known as “The Spirit on the Lake” - and also, the surfing capital of Lake Michigan! HFH Lakeside has served over 50 families, operates a ReStore, and is currently building their 28th home.
