When you contribute to a local Habitat for Humanity house build project, your donation helps build homes for two families in need of safe, affordable housing.
With the Habitat for Humanity International Tithe program, affiliates and the SSO donate a portion of our undesignated donations toward building houses in other countries. That means we are often able to fund the construction of at least one Habitat house in an emerging country for each house we build at home, since construction costs in developing countries are substantially less than building a Habitat home in the United States.
Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin annually donates to Habitat for Humanity Honduras and Wisconsin affiliates donate to various countries through their own tithe programs. Together, Wisconsin SSO and affiliates helped build over 100 homes in developing countries within a year.
